Hearst Castle Tour

Leave the Driving to us!  Enjoy the scenic view as we make our journey over to the Enchanted Hill. You will visit the elephant seals at the Piedras Blancas Rookery before heading over to America’s castle.

Grand Rooms Tour

At the castle, you will be guided to the National Geographic Theater to view “Hearst Castle – Building the Dream” in large screen format before starting the Grand Rooms Tour.

This tour is recommended for first-time visitors. It also has the fewest stairs to climb. Every evening, W. R. Hearst’s guests gathered in the grand social rooms on the ground floor of Casa Grande (his formal name for the twin-towered building, or main house). Follow their footsteps and experience what it was like to be a guest at The Enchanted Hill—known today as Hearst Castle. At the end of the guided portion of your tour, stroll on your own through the gardens and wander at your leisure around the Neptune Pool and the Roman Pool—just as Mr. Hearst’s guests did in the 1920s and 1930s.

After the tour, you will enjoy a gourmet deli lunch at/near the Castle before heading back to your local lodging.  Time permitting, we will stop at a local winery or do some shopping in downtown Cambria.  This is an all inclusive and all day adventure (allow for 6.5 to 9 hours for this tour).  Please wear comfortable clothing and light layers.

                        Tour 1 "Grands Room Tour"  an overview of the castles heyday

                        Visit the Piedras Blancas Elephant Seal Rookery

                        Shopping or Wine tasting following

2:00pm             Begin return trip back to lodging (times to return guests may vary)

OVERNIGHT AMTRAK TOUR OPTION:   Southbound Amtrak Train 11 arrives in Paso Robles 1:38pm, we welcome you with a sit down wine tasting at our wine bar followed by our Afternoon Wine Tour.  Upon return from the wine tour we will drop you off at your evenings lodging.   The next morning, on to the Hearst Castle!  Tour as described above and we return you to the train station for your Northbound train scheduled to leave at 4:45pm. Arrangements for Amtrak are made separately directly through Amtrak.

Or...... Arrive in Paso Robles on the Northbound train @ 4:45pm.  We will take you to your hotel for the evening.  Go on either one of our day tours the next morning.
